To the ones being negative... For some people, this guy and the rest of mythbusters are the pivotal reason why they decided to study engineering, physics or any kind of STEM related career. Me included. So, for those people, they are what they are now, partly, because of him. Maybe he wasn't the best in his field, but he helped making it interesting so others started to be interested in it as well.

“Ruptured brain aneurysms are fatal in about 50% of cases. Of those who survive, about 66% suffer some permanent neurological deficit. Approximately 15% of people with a ruptured aneurysm die before reaching the hospital.” One of my Professors told us about her brother. They were at a family BBQ and her brother was talking to a cousin. All of a sudden, he just falls to the ground. He is not responding. He dies on the ambulance just 5 min away from the hospital. You never know when it might hit.

Maybe to some, he is a hero. I would not say it is wrong. Grant's ability to capture a viewer's attention with his logical thinking, educated guesses, and just all around good guy persona made him an inspiration to anyone curious or interested in what the mythbusters were all about. Although I haven't seen much of him on tv lately, knowing that I never will again makes me sincerely sad. We lost a good one...RIP Grant.

I'm sure he was a good guy... but let's not use the word "hero" whenever someone dies. It cheapens the word. A hero is someone who knowingly burdens a large risk in order to win something. There was no risk taking involved. He literally just died of a brain aneurysm. I'm sure he was a nice guy but that doesn't make you a hero.
